Removal

SUSPENSION: FRONT LOWER BALL JOINT: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

HINT:
-

Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.

-

The procedures listed below are for the LH side.

1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL
2. REMOVE FRONT AXLE SHAFT NUT LH See: Control Arm/Service and Repair/Front Lower Suspension Arm/Removal

3. REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY LH See: Wheel Hub/Service and Repair/Front Axle Hub/Removal

4. REMOVE FRONT DISC See: Brakes and Traction Control/Disc Brake System/Service and Repair/Front Brake/Removal

5. REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE DUST COVER LH See: Wheel Hub/Service and Repair/Front Axle Hub/Removal

6. DISCONNECT FRONT HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH See: Suspension Strut / Shock Absorber/Service and

Repair/Front Shock Absorber/Removal

7. DISCONNECT FRONT NO. 2 SUSPENSION LOWER ARM LH

(a) Remove the clip and nut.
(b) Install 2 spacers (SST spacer A) onto the front No. 2 suspension lower arm LH so that there is a space of approximately 1 mm (0.0394 in.)

between the arm and spacers.

NOTICE:
-

Make sure to install the spacers (SST spacer A) as the steering knuckle spacer may shift.

-

As SST may become damaged, make sure the space between the arm and spacers is not less than 1 mm (0.0394 in.).

(c) Using SST, disconnect the front No. 2 suspension lower arm LH from the front lower ball joint assembly LH.
