d. Using a press, install a new bearing side dust cover.

HINT:  The clearance between the dust cover and the bearing should be kept in the range shown in the illustration.

e. Using a press, install a new transaxle side dust cover.

3. LH DRIVE SHAFT: INSTALL DUST COVER

Using a press, install a new dust cover.

4. TEMPORARILY INSTALL NEW OUTBOARD AND INBOARD JOINT BOOTS WITH NEW BOOT CLAMPS

HINT:

Before installing the boots, wrap the spline of the outboard joint shaft with vinyl tape to prevent them from being damaged.

Before installing the boots, place 2 new clamps to outboard joint boot.

a. Temporarily install a new outboard joint boot with 2 clamps to the outboard joint shaft.
b. Temporarily install a new inboard joint boot to the outboard joint shaft.

5. ASSEMBLE INBOARD JOINT COVER

a. Clean contacting surfaces of any FIPG material using a cleaner.

b. Apply FIPG to the inboard joint cover, as shown in the illustration.

FIPG: Part No. 08826-00801, THREE BOND 1121 or equivalent
