Repairs and Inspections Required After A Collision
Horn Button Assembly
CAUTION: Be sure to perform the initialization of the occupant classification ECU under the conditions listed below.If the initialization is not
performed, the SRS may not operate properly.

The occupant classification ECU is replaced.
-
Accessories (seatback tray or seat cover, etc.) are installed to the vehicle.

The passenger seat is removed from the vehicle.
-
The SRS warning light comes on.
-
The vehicle is brought to the work shop for repair purpose due to the accident or collision.
VEHICLES NOT INVOLVED IN COLLISION
a. Do a diagnostic system check.
b. Do a visual check which includes the following items with the horn button assembly installed in the vehicle: Cuts, minute cracks or marked
discoloration on the horn button assembly top surface and in the grooved portion.
VEHICLE INVOLVED IN COLLISION AND AIRBAG IS NOT DEPLOYED
a. Do a diagnostic system check.
b. Do a visual check which includes the following items with the horn button assembly removed from the vehicle:

Cuts, minute cracks or marked discoloration on the horn button assembly top surface and in the grooved portion.

Cuts and cracks in wire harness, and chipping in the connectors.
-
Deformation of the steering wheel assembly.
-
The deformation of the horn button contact plate of the horn button assembly.
