Applicability

Introduction

To improve serviceability the No.5 Engine Room W~re is now available as a service part and can be replaced separately from the main engine harness.
This wire connects the positive battery terminal to the Engine Room Junction Block.

APPLICABLE WARRANTY

This repair is covered under the Lexus Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 48 months or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first,
from the vehicle's in-service date.

Warranty application is limited to occurrence of the specified condition described in this bulletin.

Repair Procedure

1. Disconnect and remove the battery cables from the negative and positive terminals.

Wait for at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the battery cables to prevent possible airbag deployment.

2. Remove the battery hold-down bracket and battery.

3. Remove the Junction Block No.2 Engine Fuse Block cover.

4. Remove the two bolts.

5. Disconnect the Junction Block cover (see illustration for detail).

6. Remove the retaining clip for the cable.
