(b) Using a screwdriver with the tip wrapped with protective tape, disconnect the 2 airbag connectors to remove the instrument panel wire

assembly from the front passenger airbag assembly.

When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL

1. REMOVE NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX DUCT

HINT
Refer to the procedure up to Remove No. 1 Console Box Duct    See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard /
Instrument Panel/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Removal.

2. DISCONNECT INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE ASSEMBLY

(a) Check that the engine switch is off.

(b) Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

(c) Slide the slider to release the lock, and then disconnect the connector.
