Variable Valve Timing Actuator: Service and Repair
Removal
2GR-FXE ENGINE CONTROL: CAMSHAFT OIL CONTROL VALVE: REMOVAL
1. PRECAUTION (w/ Air Suspension)

2. PRECAUTION (w/ Navigation System for HDD)
NOTICE:
After the power switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of
memory and settings. As a result, after turning the power switch off, make sure to wait at least 60 seconds before disconnecting the
cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
3. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the windshield wiper motor and link assembly See: Wiper and Washer Systems/Wiper Motor/Service and Repair/Front Wiper
Motor/Removal.
4. REMOVE FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER CAP (w/ Air Suspension) See: Steering and Suspension/Suspension/Suspension Strut / Shock
Absorber/Service and Repair/Front Shock Absorber (w/ Air Suspension)/Removal
5. REMOVE OUTER COWL TOP PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Brakes and Traction Control/Hydraulic System/Brake Master Cylinder/Service
and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Removal
6. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine Assembly/Removal
7. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER
8. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT (for Engine) See: Cooling System/Coolant/Service and Repair/Coolant (for Engine)
9. REMOVE INTAKE AIR RESONATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine Assembly/Removal
10. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR CLEANER INLET See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine Assembly/Removal
11. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine Assembly/Removal
12. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY WITH HOSE See: Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Throttle Body/Service
and Repair/Removal
13. REMOVE INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK ASSEMBLY See: Intake Manifold/Service and Repair/Removal
14. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY (for Bank 2)
(a) Disconnect the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly connector.
(b) Remove the bolt and camshaft timing oil control valve assembly.
(c) Remove the O-ring from the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly.
