Removal

2GR-FXE ENGINE CONTROL: ECM: REMOVAL

1. PRECAUTION (w/ Navigation System for HDD)

NOTICE:
After the power switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of
memory and settings. As a result, after turning the power switch off, make sure to wait at least 60 seconds before disconnecting the
cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

2. REMOVE REAR DECK FLOOR BOX   See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Headliner/Service and Repair/Removal and

3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected    See: Testing and
Inspection/Programming and Relearning/Repair Instruction - Initialization.

4. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH   See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine

5. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER   See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine

6. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL   See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine

7. REMOVE ECM

(a) Separate the 2 wire harness clamps.

(b) Disconnect the 2 ECM connectors and remove the ECM with brackets.

(1) Push in the locks on the 2 levers, raise the levers, and disconnect the 2 ECM connectors.

NOTICE:
After disconnecting the connectors, make sure that dirt, water or other foreign matter does not contact the connecting part of the
connectors.

(2) Remove the bolt and separate the cooler pipe.
