Camshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair
Installation

2GR-FXE ENGINE CONTROL: CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR: INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL VVT SENSOR (for Bank 1)

(a) Apply a light coat of engine oil to the O-ring of the sensor.

(b) Install the sensor with the bolt.

NOTICE:
Make sure that the O-ring is not cracked or does not jump out of position during installation.

Torque : 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)

(c) Connect the sensor connector.

2. INSTALL VVT SENSOR (for Bank 2)

(a) Apply a light coat of engine oil to the O-ring of the sensor.

(b) Install the sensor with the bolt.

NOTICE:
Make sure that the O-ring is not cracked or does not jump out of position during installation.

Torque : 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)

(c) Connect the sensor connector.

3. INSTALL EGR DELIVERY CHAMBER   See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Intake Manifold/Service and Repair/Installation

4. INSTALL NO. 2 EGR PIPE   See: Emission Control Systems/Exhaust Gas Recirculation/EGR Cooler/Service and Repair/Installation

5. INSTALL INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK ASSEMBLY   See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Intake Manifold/Service and

Repair/Installation

6. INSTALL AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY   See: Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Throttle Body/Service and Repair/Installation

7. ADD ENGINE COOLANT (for Engine)   See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Cooling System/Coolant/Service and Repair/Coolant (for Engine)

8. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK   See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Cooling System/Testing and Inspection/Component Tests and General

Diagnostics/Cooling System

9. INSPECT FOR OIL LEAK

(a) Start the engine, and check that there are no oil leaks.

10. INSTALL NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET   See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine
