Repair Procedure

1. Inspect for coolant leaks.

Disconnect the front No.3 exhaust pipe sub-assembly and inspect for coolant.

If coolant is found proceed to step 2.

If NO coolant is found reinstall the No.3 exhaust pipe sub-assembly then inspect vehicle for other sources of coolant leaks and diagnose per the
Repair Manual.

2. Reinstall the No.3 exhaust pipe sub-assembly.

3. Replace the EGR cooler assembly and EGR pipe No.2.

Refer to the Technical Information System (TIS) applicable model year RX 450h Repair Manual:

4. After performing EGR cooler and pipe installation add coolant to the coolant reservoir until full.

5. Test drive to confirm proper operation of the system.
