Camshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair
Removal

2GR-FXE ENGINE CONTROL: CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR: REMOVAL

1. PRECAUTION (w/ Air Suspension)

NOTICE:

2. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the windshield wiper motor and link assembly    See: Wiper and Washer Systems/Wiper Motor/Service and Repair/Front Wiper

Motor/Removal.

3. REMOVE FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER CAP (w/ Air Suspension)   See: Steering and Suspension/Suspension/Suspension Strut / Shock

Absorber/Service and Repair/Front Shock Absorber (w/ Air Suspension)/Removal

4. REMOVE OUTER COWL TOP PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY   See: Brakes and Traction Control/Hydraulic System/Brake Master Cylinder/Service

and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Removal

5. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY   See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Engine Assembly/Removal

6. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

7. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT (for Engine)   See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Cooling System/Coolant/Service and Repair/Coolant (for Engine)

8. REMOVE INTAKE AIR RESONATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY   See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Engine Assembly/Removal

9. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR CLEANER INLET   See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine

Assembly/Removal

10. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET   See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine

Assembly/Removal

11. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY   See: Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Throttle Body/Service and Repair/Removal

12. REMOVE INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK ASSEMBLY   See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Intake Manifold/Service and Repair/Removal

13. REMOVE NO. 2 EGR PIPE   See: Emission Control Systems/Exhaust Gas Recirculation/EGR Cooler/Service and Repair/Removal

14. REMOVE EGR DELIVERY CHAMBER   See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Intake Manifold/Service and Repair/Removal

15. REMOVE VVT SENSOR (for Bank 2)

(a) Disconnect the sensor connector.

(b) Remove the bolt and sensor.

16. REMOVE VVT SENSOR (for Bank 1)

(a) Disconnect the sensor connector.

(b) Remove the bolt and sensor.
