Torque : 70 Nm (714 kgf-cm, 52 ft-lbf)

NOTICE:
Perform this step only when the front shock absorber with coil spring has been disassembled.

13. INSTALL COWL TOP SILENCER PAD

(a) Engage the 3 claws to install the cowl top silencer pad.

14. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL

Torque : 103 Nm (1050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf)

15. STABILIZE SUSPENSION

(a) Lower the vehicle and bounce it up and down several times to stabilize the front suspension.

16. INSPECT AND ADJUST FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT

HINT
Inspect and adjust the front wheel alignment    See: Alignment/Service and Repair/Front Wheel Alignment ( Service Manual ).

Disposal

FRONT SUSPENSION: FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER: DISPOSAL

1. DISPOSE OF FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY

(a) Position the front shock absorber assembly level with the piston rod fully extended. Using a drill, make a hole in the cylinder between A and B

as shown in the illustration to discharge the gas inside.

NOTICE:
Be careful when drilling because shards of metal may fly about, so always use the proper safety equipment.

HINT
The gas is colorless, odorless and nonpoisonous.
