APPLICABLE MODEL(S)/VINS

(produced before November 1, 2006)
DESCRIPTION
On some vehicles, the screw heads of the rear slide door latch is corroded, which gives a poor quality impression. This is caused by damage to the screw
head and the surface treatment by a screwdriver when tightening the screws. To stop this from happening, the film thickness and strength of the surface
treatment have been improved.
When you encounter a customer complaint on this concern, replace the screws with modified ones.
Tightening torque: 62 in-lbs (7.0 Nm).
WARNING:
Make sure to open the sliding door all the way until it locks into position, otherwise the door could close while trying to replace the screws.
NOTE:
Replace the screws one at a time. If you remove all of them, the door latch can fall into the door.
