Hood Latch Release Cable: Service and Repair
HOOD RELEASE CABLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the following parts:
a. Side turn lights See: Lighting and Horns/Turn Signals/Turn Signal Lamp/Service and Repair/Side Turn Light Removal/Installation
b. Front bumper See: Bumper/Front Bumper/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Front Bumper Removal/Installation
c. Front combination lights See: Lighting and Horns/Headlamp/Service and Repair
d. Side step molding
e. Front fender molding See: Cowl/Cowl Moulding / Trim/Service and Repair/Cowl Grille Removal/Installation
f.
Front mudguard See: Spoilers, Flaps, and Air Dams/Mud Flap/Service and Repair
g. Front fender panel See: Fender/Front Fender/Service and Repair
3. Remove the hood release cable from clips A.
4. Remove the clips B.
5. Remove the hood release cable from clips C.
6. Disconnect the hood latch from the hood release cable.
7. Remove the grommet.
8. Remove the hood release cable from outside of the vehicle.
9. Install in the reverse order of removal.
Grommet Removal Note
1. Remove the grommet in the direction of the arrow (2) shown in the figure while pressing the grommet tabs in the direction of the arrow (1).
