Condenser HVAC: Service and Repair
CONDENSER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Discharge the refrigerant. See: Service and Repair/Refrigerant Charging
3. Discharge the engine coolant. See: Service and Repair/Refrigerant Charging
4. Disconnect the cooler hose LO and cooler hose HI. See: Hose/Line HVAC/Service and Repair
5. Remove the following parts:
a. Plug hole plate See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Plug Hole Plate
Removal/Installation
b. Engine cover
c. Air cleaner, air hose and fresh air duct component See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Intake Manifold/Service and Repair See: Engine,
Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Intake Manifold/Service and Repair
d. Throttle body with the water hoses still connected. Position the throttle body so that it is out of the way See: Engine, Cooling and

e. Coolant reserve tank See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Cooling System/Coolant Reservoir/Service and Repair See: Engine, Cooling and

f.
Cooling fan component See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Cooling System/Radiator Cooling Fan/Testing and Inspection See: Engine, Cooling

g. Disconnect the ATF oil cooler hose from the radiator (ATX) See: Transmission and Drivetrain/Automatic

6. Remove the radiator. See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Cooling System/Radiator/Service and Repair See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Cooling
System/Radiator/Service and Repair
7. Remove the condenser from the radiator. Do not allow remaining compressor oil in the refrigerant line to spill.
CAUTION:
-
If moisture or foreign material enters the refrigeration cycle, cooling ability will be lowered and abnormal noise or other malfunction could
occur. Always plug open fittings immediately after removing any refrigeration cycle parts.
