Wiper Motor: Testing and Inspection
WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR INSPECTION
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the windshield wiper arm and blade. See: Wiper Arm/Service and Repair
3. Remove the cowl grille. See: Body and Frame/Cowl/Cowl Moulding / Trim/Service and Repair/Cowl Grille Removal/Installation
4. Remove the cover. See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement
5. Disconnect the windshield wiper motor connector.
6. Connect battery positive voltage to windshield wiper motor terminal A or B, and ground to terminal D, then verify that the windshield wipers
operate as shown in the table.

If the windshield wipers do not operate as indicated in the table, replace the windshield wiper motor.
7. Disconnect battery positive voltage from the motor terminal A or B while the wipers are operating.
8. Verify that the wipers do not stop in the park position.
9. Short between the motor terminals A and C, and connect battery positive voltage to the motor terminal E.
10. Verify that the wipers operate at low speed again, then stop in the park position.

If there is any malfunction, replace the windshield wiper motor.
