Clutch Pedal Assembly: Adjustments
1.
Measure distance from upper surface of pedal pad to the firewall. Ensure measurement is 8.43-8.63 inches on 1986-87 models, or 8.524-8.543
inches on 1988 models.
2.
If not, adjust by loosening locknut and turning stopper adjuster bolt until specified height is obtained.
3.
Depress pedal lightly by hand and measure clutch pedal play. Clutch pedal play. Clutch pedal play should be 43-.67 inch on 1986-87 fuel injected
models and .20-.51 on 1988 fuel injected models and all turbocharged models.
4.
If not, press release lever and, when the roller is pulled, turn adjusting nut until a clearance of .08-.12 inch is obtained between release lever and
roller on 1986-87 fuel injected models. On 1988 fuel injected models and all turbocharged models, adjust by loosening the locknut and turning the
pushrod. Ensure that the distance from floor to the center of the upper surface of the pedal pad is 3.2 inches on 1986-87 fuel injected models, 2.4
inches or more on 1986-87 turbocharged models, or 2.7 inches on all 1988 models when the clutch is completely disengaged.
5.
After adjustment, tighten locknut.
