Fuel Pump Relay: Testing and Inspection

Remove circuit opening relay.

2.

Check circuit as follows:

a. There should be .2-30 ohms at terminal Fp, Fig. 85.
b. There should be infinite ohms at terminal Fc when cranking engine.
c. There should be battery voltage at terminal B with ignition switch in On position.
d. There should be approximately 9 volts at terminal STA when cranking engine.
e. There should be infinite ohms at terminal E1.

Apply 12 volts and a ground to circuit opening relay and check relay as follows:

a. With 12 volts applied to terminal STA, Fig. 84, and terminal E1 grounded, there should be continuity between terminals B and Fp.
b. With 12 volts applied to terminal B, and terminal Fc grounded, there should be battery voltage at terminal Fp.

Using ohmmeter, check resistance between terminals as follows:
