1.

Start engine and allow to reach normal operating temperature.

2.

Disconnect canister purge hose from air cleaner, if applicable.

3.

On 1988 626 and MX-6, ground test connector to vehicle with jumper wire Fig. 2.

4.

On all models, connect tachometer to engine following tool manufacturer's instructions.

5.

Set parking brake, then place transmission in specified range. When performing idle speed adjustments, all electrical accessories should be
off. If vehicle is equipped with electric cooling fan, disconnect fan electrical connector before adjusting idle speed.

6.

Adjust curb idle speed by turning throttle or air adjust screw until specified curb idle speed is obtained.
