Shifter A/T: Testing and Inspection

Inspection

CAUTION:  Shift the selector lever from P range to other ranges with the ignition switch ON and the brake pedal depressed.

1. Verify that the selector lever can only be shifted as shown.
2. Verify that there is a "click" at each range when shifted from P->L range.
3. Verify that the positions of the selector lever and the indicator are aligned.
4. If not as specified, adjust the indicator panel.

5. Verify that the positions of the selector lever and the range indicator in the instrument cluster are aligned.
6. If not as specified, adjust the park/neutral switch.
7. Verify that the vehicle operates in selected range.
