Shift Cable: Adjustments
Shift Cable and Bracket Adjustment
SHIFT CABLE AND BRACKET ADJUSTMENT
1. With the vehicle in neutral, position it on a hoist.
2. Place the gearshift lever in the (D) position and hang a 1.4 kg (3 lb) weight on the shift control selector lever.

Move the selector lever to the first gear position, then move back 2 detents to the (D) position.

Hang a 3.6 kg (8 lb) weight on the gearshift lever.
3. Verify the position of the selector lever indicator. If the selector lever indicator does not match the selector lever position the selector lever
indicator will need to be adjusted.
4. Raise and support the vehicle.
5. Disconnect the transmission selector lever cable from the manual control lever.
6. Remove the transmission selector lever cable clip and remove the cable from the bracket.
7. Place the manual control lever in the (D) position.
(1) Rotate the manual control lever fully counterclockwise.
(2) Rotate the manual control lever clockwise to the (D) position (2 detents).
