Backing Plate: Service and Repair
Replacement

1. Remove wheel and tire.
2. Remove brake drum, brake shoes, and wheel cylinder.
3. Remove backing plate bolts.
4. Install in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

Tighten mounting nuts to 34-47 Nm (25-35 ft. lbs.).

5. Bleed brakes. See: Brake Bleeding/Service and Repair
