Vacuum Brake Booster: Service and Repair
Replacement
1. Disconnect the stoplight switch harness connector.
2. Disconnect the vacuum hose from power brake unit.
3. Remove in the order shown in the figure.
4. Inspect all parts, replace or repair if necessary.
5. Install in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

Use only factory supplied spring retainers.

Tighten mounting nuts to 22-28 Nm (16-21 ft. lbs.).
6. After installation, perform the following:
a. Add fluid and bleed the air. See: Brake Bleeding/Service and Repair
b. Check for fluid leakage.
c. Start the engine and check brake operation.
