All 1994-97 B-2300 and all 1998-99 B-2500.
DESCRIPTION
A lack of heat from the climate control system may occur in some vehicles. Also, the Malfunction Indictor Lamp (MIL) illuminates with Diagnostic
Trouble Code (DTC) P0125 stored in memory. This can be caused by sand from the engine block manufacturing process getting trapped within the
thermostat, causing it to stick open.
Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1.
Verify customer concern.
2.
Flush engine coolant using the procedure in Workshop Manual (section 01 - ENGINE COOLANT FLUSHING).
Note
When using the above procedure, replace both the thermostat and coolant. Be sure to install the thermostat listed below.
3.
Verify repair.
