2. Check for continuity between Terminals S and M.

3. Check for continuity between Terminal S and the body.

4. Check for no continuity between Terminals B and M.
5. Replace the magnetic switch if not as specified.

Brush and brush holder

1. Check for no continuity between each insulated brush and the plate. Replace the brush holder if there is continuity.
2. Measure the force of the brush spring by using a spring balance.

Spring force: 18 N {1.83 kgf, 4.04 lbf}

3. Replace the spring if not as specified.

Brush

If a brush is worn almost to or beyond, the wear limit, replace all of the brushes.

Brush length: 16.8 mm {0.66 in}

Armature

1. Check for no continuity between the commutator and the core. Replace the armature if there is continuity.
