Engine Control Module: Service and Repair
Harness Removal/Installation

REMOVAL NOTE

1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the MAF sensor connector.
3. Disconnect the IAT sensor connector.
4. Remove the air cleaner outlet tube.
5. Remove the upper intake manifold.

6. Disconnect the PCM ground cable. 

1. Remove the screw.

7. Disconnect the engine connector. 

1. Remove the bolt.
2. Disconnect the 42-pin connector.

8. Remove the wiring assembly from the dash. 

1. Remove the nut.
2. Remove the wiring assembly.

9. Disconnect the CMP sensor connector.

10. Disconnect the water temperature indicator sensor and ECT sensor.
11. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor leads.
12. Disconnect the fuel injector connectors.
13. Disconnect the oil pressure switch.
14. Disconnect the CKP sensor connector.
15. Remove the CKP sensor wiring from the back of the generator mounting bracket.
16. Disconnect the radio ignition interference capacitor and front ignition coil connector.
17. Disconnect the EGR vacuum regulator solenoid connector.
18. Disconnect the rear ignition coil connector.
19. Disconnect the TP sensor and IAC connectors at the throttle body.
20. Disconnect the DPFE sensor connector.
21. Remove the engine harness and retainers from the valve cover.

INSTALLATION NOTE

1. Install the engine wiring harness and the retainers to the valve cover.
2. Connect the DPFE sensor connector.
3. Connect the TP sensor and the IAC valve on the throttle body.
4. Connect the EGR vacuum regulator solenoid connector.
5. Connect the rear ignition coil connector.
6. Route the CKP sensor wiring behind the generator mounting bracket.
7. Connect the radio ignition interference capacitor and the front ignition coil connector.
8. Connect the CKP sensor.
