DESCRIPTION
The door glass may not roll up more than 1/3 of the full travel after the door is slammed hard when closing. This may be caused by the window popping
out of the window run channel. To correct this problem, the glass run channel must be adjusted.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1.
Remove the door window crank handle and door trim according to the instructions in section S of the workshop manual.
2.
Lower glass.
^
Loosen front and/or rear glass run channel bracket screws.
^
Install glass into the glass run channel.
3.
Tighten the front glass run channel bracket, move rear bracket full forward and tighten.
4.
Lower the glass and insert a pry tool (large, flat bladed screw driver) into the door with the blade against the forward side of the glass run channel.
^
Gently push the glass run channel rearward toward the glass. Refer to figure 1.
^
Measure the gap between the bottom of the glass run channel and the edge of the glass should be 0.5 - 2.5 mm (1/32 - 7/64 in.). If not, the
adjustment will be made in step 6.
5.
Roll the window up.
6.
Bend the front of the glass run channel 8 - 12 mm (1/2 in.) rearward to reduce the gap found in step 4 to 0.5 - 2.5 mm (1/32 - 7/64 in.). Refer to
figure 1.
7.
Roll the glass down and repeat step 4.
8.
Repeat steps 5 & 6 as required.
