Fluid - A/T: Testing and Inspection
1. Ensure vehicle is on flat, level surface, then apply parking brake and block wheels.
2. Warm engine until Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) reaches 150 - 170°F.
3. While pressing brake pedal, shift selector lever to each range (Park through 1st), pausing momentarily in each range, then shift back to park. 4WD
models must have 4WD shift lever in any position other than neutral.
4. Ensure ATF level is in HOT range. Add specified ATF as necessary.
5. Check ATF for discoloration or any unusual smell. If ATF is muddy and varnished, it indicates burnt drive parts.
