DESCRIPTION

A "ping" or "creak" (not a clunk) noise may be heard from the driveline when engine torque is initially applied (shifting gears or engaging clutch). The
cause of the noise is driveshaft or transfer case yoke snapping across the spline clearance on the output shaft as torque is applied.

Customers complaining of this concern should have the vehicle repaired according to the following procedure.
