Axle Bearing: Service and Repair
AXLE TUBE BEARING REMOVAL / INSTALLATION Removal Note
1. Remove the right-hand driveaxle shaft.
2. Remove the right-hand axle shaft.
3. Use Impact Slide Hammer ST 49-0223-630B and Converter Seal Remover 307-309 (T94P77001 -BH) or equivalent to remove the axle seal.
4. Use Axle Bearing Remover ST 49 UN01 032, Impact Slide Hammer ST 49-0223-630B and Adapter ST 49 UN1 1 011 to remove the axle tube
bearing.
5. Clean the bearing and seal surfaces of any foreign debris.
Installation Note
1. Use the Axle Bearing/Seal Installer ST 49 U NO 1 028 and Driver Handle ST 49-FO27-003 to replace the RH axle tube bearing.
