Crankshaft Main Bearing Seal: Service and Repair
CRANKSHAFT REAR OIL SEAL REPLACEMENT
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the oil pan.
3. Remove the transmission.
4. Remove the clutch on manual transmission-equipped vehicles.
5. Remove the bolts.
6. Remove the flywheel and flywheel reinforcement plate.
7. Remove the crankshaft rear oil seal using a punch and Jet Plug Remover SST 310-005 (T77L-9533B) or equivalent.
8. Install in the reverse order of removal.
Rear Oil Seal Installation Note
1. Lubricate the outer lips and the inner seal on the crankshaft rear oil seal.
2. Install the crankshaft rear oil seal using Rear Main Seal Installer SST 49 UN01 064.
