Catalytic Converter: Service and Repair
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
1. Raise the vehicle; refer to General Information.
2. Disconnect the rear 02 sensor electrical connector.
3. Remove the rear 02 sensor; refer to Heated Oxygen Sensor (H02S) Removal/Installation.
4. Remove the muffler and tailpipe; refer to Muffler and Tailpipe Removal/Installation.
5. Remove the nuts.
NOTE: The exhaust hanger bracket insulators can be reused if they show no signs of damage.
6. Remove the three way catalytic converter and the exhaust outlet pipe frame brackets.
7. Install the exhaust converter inlet pipe gasket, the three way catalytic converter and the exhaust outlet pipe frame brackets.
8. Install the nuts.
Tightening torque: 25 - 35 Nm (19 - 25 ft. lbs.)
9. Install the muffler and tailpipe; refer to Muffler and Tailpipe Removal/Installation.
10. Lower the vehicle.
