Suspension - Vehicle Sits Too Low in Rear

1998-2000 B-Series - VEHICLE SITS LOW IN REAR
APPLICABLE MODELS
1998-2000 B-Series with rear GAWR of 2600 or 2750 as shown on the certification label.
DESCRIPTION
Some vehicles may have a low sitting appearance in the rear. This may be caused by the rear springs.
Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE

Verify customer

Park vehicle on flat ground with no load in truck bed to measure ride height.

For 4x2: Measure from the top of the axle to the bottom of the frame in the area near the middle of the jounce bumper. Correct rear height for
4x2 should be a minimum of 170 mm. If height is below this minimum specification, replace existing rear springs with modified part according
to LEAF SPRING REMOVAL/INSTALLATION of the Workshop Manual (section 02-14).

For 4x4: Measure from the top of the spring spacer bar to the bottom of the frame in the area near the middle of the jounce bumper. Correct
rear height for 4x4 should be a minimum of 156 mm. If height is below this minimum specification, replace existing rear springs with modified
