Axle Bearing: Testing and Inspection
Manual Locking Hub

Adjustment (Manual locking hubs)

1. Jack up the front of the vehicle, and support it with safety stands.
2. Remove the wheel and tire assembly.
3. Remove the retainers and manual locking hub assembly.

Remove the snap ring.

5. Remove the axle shaft spacers.

6. Remove the outerlocknut using the SST.
7. Remove the washer.

8. Loosen the inner locknut using the SST.
9. Rotate the disc plate counterclockwise while tightening the inner locknut to specification.

Tightening torque:  47 N.m {4.8 kgf.m, 35 ft.lbf}

10. Spin the disc plate and loosen the inner locknut one quarter turn (90°).
11. Tighten the inner locknut using the SST.

Note:  SST number: 49 UNO1 042 Hub Locknut Wrench

Tightening torque:  1.8 N.m {18.3 kgf.cm, 16 in.lbf}

12. Install the washer.
