Lifter / Lash Adjuster: Service and Repair

VALVE TAPPET REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the cylinder heads.

Note:  Mark the tappets to make sure they are reinstalled in their original location.

3. Remove the valve tappets.

4. Inspect the valve tappets.
5. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Valve Tappet Installation Note

Lubricate the valve tappets and bores with clean engine oil.

Install the tappets into their original bores.
