DESCRIPTION
Contamination from prior transmission concerns or contamination from excess wear may be trapped in the transmission cooling system. This debris must
be removed by properly cleaning and testing the transmission cooling system and installing a Transmission Fluid In-Line Filter Kit in the fluid cooler
return line.
NOTE:
It is recommended that the In-Line Filter be changed every 48,000 KM (30,000 Miles). the filter is available separately as a service part.
Customer having this concern should have their vehicles repaired using the following procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1.
Clean, flush and back-flush the transmission fluid cooling system. Follow the flushing equipment manufacturers instructions.
2.
Flow test the transmission per the instructions included with the Transmission In-Line Filter Kit to verify proper volume.
Repair any restrictions (internal filter, fluid coolers, auxiliary cooler, cooler line or pump problems) as necessary following workshop manual
procedures.
3.
Install the Transmission Fluid In-Line Filter following the instructions found in the Transmission In-Line Filter Kit.
4.
After installing the Transmission In-Line Filter Kit, verify fluid flow out of the in-line filter following the instructions included in the kit.
