2007 CX-7 - INFORMATION DISPLAY FAILURE - MANUAL A/C SYSTEM
APPLICABLE MODEL(S)/VINS
2007 CX-7 vehicles with VINS lower than JM3ER****7*125650 (produced before July 20, 2006) equipped with a Manual Air Conditioning system
DESCRIPTION
On some vehicles equipped with a manual air conditioning system, the center panel information display may incorrectly show auto air conditioning
system information on the right side of the display. This transparent display condition may occur when the interior passenger compartment temperatures
become very high.
The Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) backlight luminance value has been reduced during mass-production to eliminate this concern. Customers having this
concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1.
Verify customer concern.
2.
Replace information display according to the Workshop Manual (section 09-22 INFORMATION DISPLAY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION).
3.
Verify repair.
4.
After battery is reconnected, complete the "Power Window Initialization Procedure" to ensure front windows "auto up/down" feature functions
properly.
POWER WINDOW INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE
1.
Turn ignition to ON position.
2.
From driver's seat ensure window lockout switch is NOT depressed.
3.
Press window switch down to fully open door window.
4.
Pull window switch up to fully close door window; hold switch up for two (2) seconds; release switch.
5.
Move to front passenger seat and repeat Steps 3 - 4 on passenger window switch.
6.
Verify proper window operation using each door switch.
