Electronic Throttle Actuator: Service and Repair

2007-2010 CX-7 2.3L TURBO - THROTTLE BODY REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE
DESCRIPTION
The procedure for replacing a throttle body and/or throttle body gasket has been revised as described below.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
WARNING: For your safety, do not begin this repair until the engine has fully cooled.
1. Record customer's preset radio stations.
2. Disconnect negative battery cable.
3. Remove the charge air cooler and air hose.
4. To depressurize the cooling system, loosen the cooling system cap once, then retighten it.
5. Using a cloth to prevent a coolant spill, remove the water hoses and plug them with commercial plugs (A).
CAUTION: Do not use bolts to plug the water hoses because bolts can damage the hoses.
6. Disconnect the throttle body connector.
7. Remove the throttle body.
8. With a new gasket, install the throttle body.
NOTE: Tighten the four (4) throttle body installation bolts in the order shown below (1-4).
Tightening Torque: 70.8-101.8 in-lbf (8-11.5 Nm)
9. Connect the throttle body connector.
10. Remove the plugs, then reinstall the water hoses.
11. Reinstall the charge air cooler and air hose.
12. Reconnect negative battery cable.
13. Re-enter customer's preset radio stations.
