DESCRIPTION
The rear console surface may harden due to exposure to sunlight and crack from use as an armrest The material of near console surface has been
modified to reduce cracking. Customers complaining of this concern, should have the vehicle inspected and the outer console lid replaced, if necessary.
NOTE:
Replace only the outer console lid.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1.
Verify complaint
2.
Use a flat screwdriver with tape around its blade to remove the inner console lid.
NOTE:
Remove the inner console lid by pulling the console lid lock lever.
CAUTION:
Remove carefully so that the claws do not break.
3.
Remove the outer console lid from the hinge.
4.
Remove the console lid lock.
5.
Replace only the outer console lid with a new one.
6.
Assemble in the reverse order of removal.
NOTE:
Before installing the inner console lid, make sure that the console lid opens and closes smoothly. If it fits improperly, adjust the hinge to lid fit.
