Radiator Cooling Fan Motor: Service and Repair
1. Obtain radio theft protection code.
2. Disconnect battery ground cable, then remove coolant reservoir with hoses attached.
3. Remove grille and upper seal board, then disconnect radiator fan motor connector.
4. Remove fan blade, motor and cowling as an assembly, then separate motor from blade and cowling.
5. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Torque fan blade mounting nut to 4.3-5.1 Nm (38-46 in.lb.)
b. Torque fan motor mounting screws to 2.7-3.7 Nm (24-32 in.lb.)
c. Torque radiator cowling (fan shroud) mounting screws to 7.9-10.7 Nm (70-95.4 in.lb.)
d. Ensure audio system is reactivated after battery ground cable is connected.
