Valve Clearance: Adjustments

INSPECTION 

1. Remove the intake manifold. 
2. Remove the cylinder head cover.
3. Verify that the engine is in cold condition.

4. Measure the valve clearance.

1) Turn the crankshaft clockwise so that the No.1 piston is at TDC of the compression stroke.

2) Measure the valve clearances at A in the image.

Standard [Engine cold]:

IN: 0.27 - 0.33 mm (0.011 - 0.012 inch)
EX: 0.27 - 0.33 mm (0.011 - 0.012 inch) 

3) If the valve clearance exceeds the standard, replace the adjustment shim.
4) Turn the crankshaft approximately 240° clockwise so that the No.3 piston is at TDC of the compression stroke.
