HOLD Indicator Light: Testing and Inspection

Inspection of operation

1. Turn the ignition switch from OFF to ON.

Note: The HOLD indicator light will flash if a malfunction exists in any of the EC-AT system components.

2. Verify that the HOLD indicator light is not illuminated.
3. Depress the switch and verify that the HOLD indicator light illuminates.

Note: If a malfunction occurs in any of the EC-AT system components, the HOLD indicator light flashes.

4. If the HOLD switch function is not as specified, check the HOLD switch, and then check the terminal voltage of the HOLD indicator light.

Inspection of voltage

1. Remove the instrument cluster. 
2. Turn the ignition switch ON.

3. Measure voltage between terminal 2G and a ground.

Inspection of continuity

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the instrument cluster connection
3. Check for continuity between terminal 2F and transmission control module terminal 1K.
