DESCRIPTION
There is a possibility that a snapping noise can be heard from the front end while driving at walking speed, forward or backward, with the steering wheel
fully locked to either side. This noise is caused by the sticking and slipping of the wheel bearing in the axle inside the front wheel hub. To prevent this
noise, lock-tight has been applied to the wheel bearing outer race before pressing the bearing into the knuckle since the first production of 1990 MPV
4x4 models.
If you encounter a customer complaint about this noise on a 1989 MPV 4x4 model, remove the wheel bearing from the knuckle and install the new one
with lock-tight applied to its outer race.
