Clutch System Bleed

Whenever a hydraulic line is disconnected, the clutch hydraulic system must be bleed to remove any air from the system.
1.
Observe the following safety precautions prior to bleeding the hydraulic system:
a. Fluid level in clutch reservoir must be maintained at or above the 3/4 level mark.
b. Do not mix different brands of hydraulic fluid.
c. Do not reuse clutch fluid that has been removed from the system.
d. Do not allow clutch fluid to contact any painted surface.

Remove bleeder cap from clutch release cylinder, Fig. 1, and attach a vinyl hose to bleeder plug.
3.
Insert other end of hose in container.
4.
Slowly pump clutch pedal several times.
5.
While depressing pedal, loosen the bleeder screw and allow air to escape, then tighten bleeder.
6.
Repeat steps 4 and 5 until no air bubbles are evident.
