The "G" signal (crank angle) detects #1 cylinder TDC and is utilized by the ECU to calculate fuel injection timing. This system utilizes two separate
pick-up coils; one generates the "G" signal and the other is integral with the igniter to trigger the coil.
To determine engine speed (rpm) necessary for various functions, the ECU receives a signal (pulse) from the ignition coil negative terminal.
