Crankshaft Main Bearing Seal: Service and Repair

REAR OIL SEAL REPLACEMENT 

1. Remove the automatic transaxle.
2. Remove the drive plate.
3. Cut the oil seal lip using a razor knife.
4. Remove the rear oil seal using a screwdriver as shown.

5. Install the rear oil seal with part A of the SST (49 UN01 070) and the SST (49 UN30 3384).

6. Install the studs of the SST (49 UN30 3384) as indicated in the figure.
7. Apply clean engine oil to the oil seal.
8. Push the oil seal slightly in by hand.

9. Install part A of the SST (49 UN01 070) and compress the oil seal with the nuts of the SST (49 UN30 3384).

10. Install the drive plate.
11. Install the automatic transaxle.
