RADIO CUTS OUT AT HIGH VOLUME/BASS
APPLICABLE MODEL(S) VINS
1997 MPV models, between VIN range JM3LV52**V0819807 and V0823576.
DESCRIPTION
The sound from the audio system (radio) may cut out when the volume or bass dial is turned up past 3/4 range. This concern is caused when voltage is
discharged from the condenser of the filter in the speaker output circuit, which activates the mute of the audio power integrated circuit and causes the
sound to cut out. Resistors have been added to the filter to prevent this concern.
Note:
It is not necessary to install complete audio unit assembly.
Customers complaining of this subject should have the vehicle inspected and if necessary, use the following repair procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
