ASSEMBLY
Assembly in the order indicated in the illustration.
Assembly Note
Oil Seal (2)
1. Apply front differential oil to the new oil seal.
2. Install the oil seal by using the Special Service Tool (SST).
Adjustment Shim, Ball Bearing (3, 4)
1. Set the removed shim(s) into the housing and install the ball bearing by using the SST.
2. Install the retaining ring.
3. Measure the clearance between the ball bearing and the retaining ring.
4. If not 0.15 mm (0.0059 inch) maximum, adjust by adding or removing shims. Use no more than two shims on either side. Available shim
thickness are 0.15 mm (0.0059 inch), 0.30 mm (0.0118 inch), 0.35 mm (0.0138 inch), 0.40 mm (0.0157 inch), 0.50 mm (0.0197 inch).
