Fuel Injector: Service and Repair

1.

Relieve fuel system pressure.

2.

Disconnect intake duct from throttle body.

3.

Remove intake manifold dynamic chamber and throttle body, as an assembly, from intake manifold.

4.

Disconnect hoses from fuel rail (fuel delivery pipe) and fuel pressure regulator.

5.

Disconnect electrical connectors from fuel injectors.

6.

Remove fuel rail.

7.

Remove injectors, O-rings, and insulators.

8.

Install in reverse order. Lubricate injector O-rings with gasoline prior to installation. Tighten dynamic chamber to manifold bolts to specified
torque.

 

14 - 19 ft lbs (19 - 15 Nm)   

9.

When installation is complete, energize fuel pump (jumper between the "Fp" and "GND" terminals of diagnostic connector and turn ignition
"ON"). Make sure there are no leaks.
