Vehicle Speed Sensor: Description and Operation
With Manual Transaxle

PURPOSE

Receives a signal from the transaxle mounted vehicle speedometer sensor and sends the signal to the engine control module.

CONSTRUCTION

The vehicle speed sensor is an integral component of the speedometer assembly and is not serviced separately.

OPERATION

Vehicle speed sensor input terminals 2I & 3G:
-

Receive an alternating current signal from the transaxle mounted vehicle speedometer sensor.

Input terminals are located on the instrument cluster.

Vehicle speed sensor output terminal 2D & ground terminal 2A:
-

Forwards the vehicle speed related signal to other control modules in the vehicle.
