Fuel Injector: Testing and Inspection
INSPECTION
Operation Check

Warm up the engine and run it at idle.

Listen for operational sound of the fuel injector by using a screwdriver or a soundscope.

If no sound is heard, measure fuel injector resistance.

If the fuel injector resistance is OK, check wiring to the fuel injector and engine control module terminals 4U, 4V, 4W and 4X voltage.
Fuel Injector Resistance

Disconnect the fuel injector harness.

Measure resistance of the fuel injector with an ohmmeter.
Resistance: 12 - 16 ohms @ 20°C (68°F)

If not as specified, replace the fuel injector.
Fuel leakage test
-
Firmly affix the fuel injectors to the fuel distributor with wire.

Disconnect the fuel injector connectors.
-
Remove the fuel distributor and fuel injectors together with the fuel hoses connected.
